AntiVirus block, Torch won't load, Can't download the setup file, or Torch deleted from my PC


If you cannot download the Torch setup file, or if you cannot run it, or receive a block from your antivirus (AV), please let us know. You can see a list of 3rd party approvals HERE.  Please make sure that your Antivirus software is completely up-to-date with all definitions.



How to allow Torch Browser to your AV white list if required:

McAfee:

Here you can see how to enable, or disable PUP.  As well as how to allow specific programs to be excluded from the block.

Avast:
Go to SETTING >> ANTIVIRUS >> HARDENED MODE and disable the mode to download the Torch Setup file.  Install Torch, and run Torch. If you want to turn the Hardened mode back on, no problem. Just add the following path to the same section in Avast, under "ADD AN EXCLUSION":
C:\Users\YOUR WINDOWS USERNAME\AppData\Local\Torch\*

AVG:

AVG Resident Shield

  1. Open AVG.
  2. Click Options in the menu, and then click Advanced settings.
  3. Click + next to Computer Protection in the left part of the window, and then select AntiVirus.
  4. Tick or untick the options:
    Report potentially unwanted programs and spyware threats
    Report enhanced set of potentially unwanted programs
  5. Click OK to save the changes.

AVG Scans

  1. Open AVG.
  2. Click Options in the menu, and then click Advanced settings.
  3. Click + next to Scans in the left part of the window, and then select Whole Computer Scan.
  4. Tick or untick the options:
    Report potentially unwanted programs and spyware threats
    Report enhanced set of potentially unwanted programs
  5. Repeat the step 4 for all available scans.
  6. Click OK to save the changes.

Adding to the Malwarebytes Ignore List...
 
Open Malwarebytes Anti-Malware, click the 'Settings' tab.
Click the 'Scanner Settings' tab
Click the menu bar for each and select one of the following options:
Do not show results in list
Show in results list and do not check for removal
When done, click the 'Exit' button
